Dracula - Prince of Darkness is the sequel to Hammer's Horror of Dracula. It literally begins by showing a clip from the end of Horror of Dracula were Count Dracula is destroyed by sunlight. Clever vehicles are used to resurrect the dead Count. It's a house movie, Victorian clothes, and, in my opinion, about three times better than HOD!
I completely agree with you! I think this movie is far superior to 'Horror of Dracula'. I haven't seen it in a while, but the resurrection scene was quite creepy from memory. Charles "Bud" Tingwell, who plays Alan, was a much beloved Australian actor.
ReplyDeleteHi Emma! I looked for this movie online and could'nt find it and then one day it popped up for sale at a Target store - 3 Hammer films for $9.99! I felt so lucky to get this. Yeah, the first half w/ the house is very haunting. O, I didn't know "Alan" was Australian! How neat!
